Waterfront Congress Centre
The fluid form of Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre is one of the city’s defining landmarks.
The challenge was to accommodate the building programme on a cramped urban site amid busy road and rail links, while creating an uplifting, flexible venue for large scale events. The triangular site garnered several solutions with removable seating and multi-use areas. Seating on the upper levels can accommodate 1682 delegates, as well as rapid conversion into two separate halls. The removable seating configurations with 1322 seats can be moved aside to make room for 2,000 banquet guests. The applied seat on the system is the Granada model. The same model, but with a higher back, can be found on the balcony.
We have installed retractable seating systems with double platform in pie-shaped form to maximize use of space with the available heigt of the hall. The middle element can be removed to clear a gangway to the rear door. The retractable system can also be used in a partial configuration.
