Théâtre Nationale de la Colline
The latest of the national theatres dedicated to dramatic art, La Colline is one of the first cultural institutions to have established itself in eastern Paris. Since its creation, the theatre has based its identity on the presentation of works from the contemporary theatrical repertoire. Today, La Colline presents between 12 and 20 shows each year in its two halls: mainly productions and co-productions, with an international opening by hosting shows presented in a foreign language with surtitles.
The project involved the implementation of a curved retractable seating system, fixed seating and removable seating in curved rows. The goal was to create a versatile seating layout to accommodate different performance types. The main seating type used was the Flex Nova seat, providing comfort and flexibility. Additionally, there are Strapontins, which are folding chairs used for additional seating arrangements.
Overall, the project aimed to enhance the seating capacity and flexibility of the Théâtre Nationale de la Colline by implementing a curved retractable seating system, combining fixed and removable seating options, and using comfortable Flex Nova seats along with Strapontins. The completed project in 2018 successfully achieved a total seat capacity of 649, providing an improved experience for the audience attending various performances at the theater.
